From festival site to street food
Basically, no challenge is too big. If the organiser wants to rent specific historical props or set up a festival site, the team at MESSE C simply roll up their sleeves.
“There are no limits to what can be done. Not so long ago, we had a big conference with a trade fair theme. That’s why we set up catering trolleys and tents behind the exhibition centre. Guests were given a free choice of whether they wanted to spend the night at the ‘festival site’ or at a regular hotel – and 800 of the 1,400 guests chose to sleep outside”, says Grete Højgaard, who is not limited when it comes to catering either:
“Some want street food, some want sharing platters, some want a delicious 3- or 4-course menu served on plates and some want a buffet. Everything is possible. If we need to bring in a new partner to serve the food the guests want, then that’s what we do,” she emphasises.
One big resort
Close collaboration with local partners is generally a prerequisite for a successful event says Grete Højgaard.
“We don’t have our own hotel facilities, but we have a number of good partners in Fredericia just a few minutes away. In many ways, we see ourselves as part of a resort, where we organise the conference, trade fair or event, and guests have a wide range of options for accommodation, entertainment and culture with our partners.”
